Thinking about the future

It was the morning of the 1st January 2022 and I woke up with an all too familiar feeling (and a throbbing head ache).

I was reflecting on the year gone by and realised that another year had come and gone without any noteworthy achievements. One could say that I was in a bit of a rut. Slightly hungover I decided to write down a couple of New Year's resolutions for the upcoming 12 months, to see if I could exit this negative groove I had been in.

The resolutions were all based on 5 aspects of my life: Health (mental and physical), Professional Development, Travel, Education, and New Experiences.

A simple concept that proved to be just the cure I needed for my stagnation.

Since the 1st January 2022, the highlights have been:

🏃‍♂️ Running my first marathon.

🎸Recording my first single called 'Playing a Role' (https://tinyurl.com/4zcaxjst).

🗻 Travelling to Japan (where I climbed the famous Mt. Fuji).

📖 Reading more than 60 books.

🥽 Scubadiving for the very first time in Mexico.

🍺 Quitting drinking alcohol.

The difference these resolutions have made to my life are incredibly significant and I am looking forward to continuing down this path in the future.

The journey I have been on the past few years made me think that maybe I am not the only one who has been in this situation.

It was this moment of clarity (as opposed to my regular brain fog) that gave birth to the idea of creating a blog.

This blog will be based on my personal experiences and knowledge gained from people I admire and from books I have read. Disclaimer: things that worked for me, might not work for you!

That being said, I will be dropping various blog posts in the coming weeks on the following topics: health (physical and mental), professional development, habit creation, goal setting, and mindfulness.

I hope that the information that I share will be as valuable to you as it was to me.

Watch this space.
